Adenoids
Vegetations or adenoids are glands, similar to the tonsils, located in the middle of the nose and the back of the throat. Often they cause problems, especially in children as they grow longer than usual, either naturally or by repeated infections of the airways. The main symptoms that cause sick vegetations are open-mouth breathing, snoring, dry mouth, bad breath, stuffy and runny nose, ear infections or obstructive sleep apnea, among others. This condition can be treated with antibiotics to address vegetations infection, tonsils and sinuses, although the most used option is the removal of the glands along with the tonsils.
