Treatment after breast reduction
Contrary to what is believed the postoperative is very rarely painful, especially with feelings of tension or tightness.
The patient will have to wear a bandage that can only be removed after a few days. The care is simple but routine: shower, healing ointment and protective compresses in an adapted bra.
Complications are rare. These can be:
• Locals : they are usually linked to the poor quality of the skin that may have healed poorly.
• General : rarely occur beyond the risk of infection.
The scars in most cases become invisible as time passes but sometimes they may become hypertrophic or keloid but it is not the usual.
After the operation, bruises that normally disappear between the first 8 and 15 days can be witnessed, depending on the person. In the same way some edema or swellings may also occur, which eventually disappear between the first 10 and 20 days.
