Ozone Therapy for Fibromyalgia
Written by:Fibromyalgia is a chronic rheumatic disease that, according to the Spanish Society of Rheumatology, affects a little more than 2% of the population over 20 years old, mostly women. People who suffer from it often complain that it hurts everything, since it involves a constant pain in muscles, ligaments and tendons, persistent fatigue, sleep disturbances, anxiety and depression as main symptoms.
Some ambiguities related to pathology are those that propagate that Fibromyalgia is a completely unknown disease. However, it is wrong information since in the last 10 years there has been considerable progress in the treatment of this disease, and depending on the case of each patient, improvements can be made that exponentially increase their quality of life, it should not be accepted never the "get used to the pain".

Treatment
The treatment of Fibromyalgia should be multidisciplinary and include different physical and pharmacological therapies, recommended according to the symptoms presented by each patient. The application of Ozone Therapy together with other specific treatments can significantly improve the quality of life of the patient. Ozone therapy helps to reduce pain and contracture of the musculature through the application of ozone through various routes (general and local).
In the IV International Congress of the SEOT , held in Valencia on 13, 14 and 15 of last June, I presented a paper on Ozone Therapy applied to Fibromyalgia in which it was noted that patients treated with Ozone Therapy and controlled for at least five years , had had a much more favorable evolution compared to the group of patients that had not been applied. The study had an impact on the scientific community due to the number of patients treated, a sample of more than 3,000 in the last 20 years, which is why this technique is considered an important aid for the control of these patients.
