Dr Joris performed a total hip replacement on my right hip using the anterior approach just under a month ago and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I had very little discomfort and my recuperation has been amazingly quick. Dr Joris is an excellent professional, very clear and concise on what the operation entails.The team at Xanit Estepona were wonderful, super attentive and cheerful at all times. Highly recommended.

In 2017 I had a hip operation using the side/behind technique. This went better than expected and within 6 weeks I could drive again and within a few months was pretty much back to normal. 4 weeks ago doctor Joris performed a hip operation on my other hip using the frontal technique. There is no comparison. The same day I was walking with crutches and the next day left the hospital. It's now 4 weeks after the surgery. I am walking without crutches, driving and also swimming. This technique is much less invasive and I am told that the blood loss was 2-300 milliliters instead of around 800 milliliters so much less invasive. When I woke up from my first operation I could not lift my body from the bed and it was 3-4 days before I would walk with crutches. When I got home I needed to use a bottle in bed to urinate. This time - none of that. I woke up from the operation and did not feel as though I had been through an operation and still have no felt ill. Immediately I could lift my leg and on the same day the physio came to help me to use the crutches. With the first operation I recovered really well but, I believe because muscles were damaged, even after a year or two I occasionally felt the hip - it felt as though my body was learning how to use that part from scratch. This time I can already feel that within a short time my body will be pretty much back to normal. My recommendation for anyone who needs a hip op is firstly not to wait too long and if you have a choice find someone like doctor Joris who uses the frontal method. In Spain, if you have full private medical insurance you can choose your surgeon and also you can pay up front if you do not have private insurance. It may seem expensive but you can maybe avoid years of pain and also recover in the quickest way possible - what's that worth?

Dr. Joris performed two complete hip replacement surgeries on my deteriorated hips in December. We started with the right, then 2 weeks later he did the left. The results have been excellent! I thank Dr. Joris for his excellent skill and kind manner. I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. I am 59 years old and at 6 weeks after the 2nd surgery, I have resumed most of my normal daily routine. The planning, the consultations, the surgery, the hospital care, all 5 star.
