Penile frenulum is the skin fold task of binding the underside of the glans with the inner surface of the foreskin. Its function is to help contract the prepuce over the glans. We speak short or short bridle when the frenulum is so short that restricts movement to do the foreskin, leading to discomfort during sexual activity. One consequence is that you can get to tearing, causing pain and some bleeding, which is not a medical emergency if complicated but requires medical treatment.
