Thrombophilia
A thrombosis is the interruption of blood flow by a blood clot. Thrombophilia is a greater than normal tendency to form clots. This tendency can be inherited or may occur in a given (acquired) time. There are many genetic alterations with an increased risk of thrombus. There are also many situations where this trend is multiplied. Hematologist can help diagnose thrombophilia and assess the scope of the same in a given patient.
