OCT ( optical coherence tomography )

OCT is an intravascular diagnostic technique high resolution. It is used to study the interior of the coronary arteries and the inside of the macula and retina.

OCT macular or optical coherence tomography is a test that allows the diagnosis and monitoring of problems of the macula and retina.

Pathologies in which is made:

  • macular degeneration (AMD)
  • Glaucoma
  • macular edema
  • Central serous choroiditis
  • epiretinal membrane
  • macular holes
  • magna or pathological myopia

This technique does not cause discomfort to the patient and does not require previous preparation. Using an infrared laser beam, a microscopic study of tissues of the eye is made.
