Herpes zoster, also called shingles, is an infection caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus by different causes (stress, immune decline associated with other viral processes ...) infection and can occur in different parts of the body, most often in the back and abdomen. Once the chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in certain nerves. Have more risk of developing this condition the seniors, if before their first birthday contracted chickenpox and if your immune system is weak due to medication or disease. Generally, the first symptom is pain, tingling or severe burning, in a single band of the body, and is followed by a rash. Shingles can be solved with an antiviral and taking some care as applying cool, wet compresses to the skin to soothe pain and itching and bed rest, if you have a fever.
