Phlebology
Phlebology is the branch of medicine that is responsible for the study, diagnosis and treatment of different disorders affecting the veins and lymphatic vessels. This word derives from "phlegm" which means vein and "logos" meaning science. Varicose veins are one of the most common disorders. Usually affects women more than men. The causes of this disorder are by different vital habits such as being standing for a long time or by hereditary factors. Venous disorders can cause discomfort such as varicose veins, tiredness, and increased ankle volume. Some of the integrated treatments in phlebology are the use of physical agents, sclerotherapy, laser and surgery.
