Pelvic inflammatory disease
Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection that affects the upper part of the internal female reproductive system: uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. It is caused by the ascent of bacteria from the vagina to the cervix, which is transmitted sexually in a childbirth or an abortion. The main symptom is abdominal pain, and can also manifest through long and with much pain, fever, pelvic pain, nausea or vomiting periods.
