Cryotherapy is a treatment indicated to eliminate certain superficial skin lesions with a technique based on the application of extreme cold, usually liquid nitrogen (-196 ° C) by means of spray powder. That nitrogen, administered on the specific injury, frostbite and causes destruction of the targeted cells without damaging the healthy tissue surrounding the lesion. The process usually takes between one to two minutes is not very painful but a feeling of itching and burning, so sometimes may require local anesthesia when applied in very sensitive areas. In addition, after cryotherapy redness, swelling and any blisters usually appear in the treated area, which is cured in a few days.
