Self-esteem is the ability of a person to be assessed, love and accept yourself. The development of self-esteem occurs in middle childhood, where the inviduo compares its"real self" a"ideal self" and people around. A psychological treatment to increase self-esteem is based on a series of exercises and avoid negative thoughts, be aware of the achievements, trust yourself, set goals, not comparable. All this training leads people to feel positive and recognize their own worth. Improve self-esteem has repercussions in our personal lives ( either ourselves or social relations ) and also at work. For all this, the study of self-esteem and creating patterns of behavior to improve it is fundamental in psychology.
