Zygomatic implants are implants designed to replace the missing tooth or teeth with good bone anchorage, allowing us to create one or several multiple teeth to replace the aesthetics and functionality of our patients simultaneously with the extraction of teeth.
We must differentiate between immediate implant (which is set in the time of tooth extraction) and immediate loading on implants, which is to put teeth immediately to the insertion of the implants in the mouth without the need to wait the integration time of the implant in bone.
Technique immediate load implants
The technique involves removing one or more teeth and, in the same act, using implants replenish losses roots to build on them missing teeth. In this way the tissues are protected and the aesthetics and functionality of the patient are preserved.
If conditions are appropriate (basically good retention and anchoring of the implant in the bone), you can also put the tooth at that time, ie, make immediate loading.
The processing time depends on the number of teeth to rehabilitate and technique that uses the dentist. If we are to restore one or more teeth in less than an hour we can have the patient rehabilitated. On the other hand, if we do rehabilitations complete jaw use digital printing techniques, in which the laboratory manufactures prostheses designed us as for our patients, and can be placed in the mouth in less than 24 hours
The load order for the final prosthesis depends on the type of implant to be used; there are special implants that allow us to load in a month and a half, and traditional implants in 3 or 4 -6 months.
Advantages and disadvantages of immediate loading
The main advantage of immediate load implants is the immediate aesthetics and preservation of the peri - implant tissues. By contrast, the main drawback is the risk of early implant loss due to excessive loads, but is easily solvable.
However, success rates are similar to those of the (conventional) delayed implantation.
