Its outer surface is a microporous polyurethane membrane and the inner one is an acrylic adhesive film to facilitate its fixation to the skin. The effects are visible at 8/10 weeks of treatment. The adhered deposit should be kept until it starts to peel by itself, which usually occurs between day 5 and 7 after placement. They should not be removed before they start to peel off.

Depending on the type of scar and its age, the treatment can last up to 4-6 months. Consistency in application is very important. The longer the dressing is applied, the better the results. Trofolastin is a scaler and is water resistant, it is not necessary to remove it for daily cleaning. Can be used for both recent and old scars. It is important not to start using it until the wound is fully closed, once the stitches are removed and all scabs have been removed, then we can use Trofolastin.
