Diagnosing sleep apnea
Sleep apnea is diagnosed by polysomnography. There is a kit consisting of a home sleep study that records up to five information channels: respiratory effort, pulse, oxygen saturation, nasal flow and snoring. This is accompanied by a pulse oximeter, a non-invasive method to find out the oxygen saturation of hemoglobin in the blood and heart rate.
