Cómo llevar a cabo una rinoplastia perfecta e imperceptible
Written by:One of the most frequent consultations in plastic, aesthetic and restorative surgery is the modification of the nasal pyramid. When a face is analyzed, the aesthetic or interest of the whole comes basically from the characteristics of the eyes or the shape of the person's mouth. The nasal pyramid, in this analysis, will only be visualized or attention will be paid to it when it distorts the proportions. In this sense, if these are harmonic, it will go unnoticed. When the patient appreciates disharmony is when you will want to modify it. This process should be studied in depth and in detail, since the goal will always be a harmonic result and the surgery will go completely unnoticed.
Pre-rhinoplasty assessment
3D printing and radiological imaging are new tools that shorten surgical time and ensure an accurate modification of rhinoplasty planning. This is a new tool that is based on the inclusion, during surgery, of a guide that indicates exactly to the plastic surgeon where it should influence, to guarantee the surgical procedure.
Also, there are other anatomical elements that must be studied previously, such as the quality of the skin (thick or final) or keep point immovable, as the glabella, point where the glasses rest.
What is a rhinoplasty procedure?
During rhinoplasty the bone should be extracted a few millimeters. The experienced plastic surgeon will be able to guide a cutting instrument through a small hole, making the cut under the mantle of the skin and a few inches from the entrance of the nose. All that the surgeon will do with a guide obtained with a conventional 3D printer, sterilized plastic. This guide will have the exact measurements thanks to tomographies that allow to execute the surgical planning.
Rhinoplasty Postoperative Care and Visits
The postoperative rhinoplasty does not hurt but the patient is always advised to enter hospital for 24 hours. However, there are cases in which the patient can return to his home the same day of the intervention.
However, it will be recommended that the patient:
- Do not do intense activities for two-three weeks.
- Be at relative rest take prescribed medication, consisting of analgesics, anti-inflammatories and antibiotic.
- Remain open-mouthed, as a precaution, at the urge to sneeze.
The day after the intervention the specialist will make a first visit, to remove the patient the nasal packing and so that he can breathe well. After five or six days after the operation, the patient will be seen again to replace the plastic splint with a paper tape, which should be worn for three to four days.
The patient can live a normal life seven days postoperatively, more or less. After the week you can return to work, depending on the professional activity you perform. It will then also be when the points are removed and the patient is advised to use high intensity sunscreen during the first month.
It is important to emphasize that the inflammation can be maintained during the two months after the intervention. It is also normal for the patient to notice less sensation in the back of the nose, which will gradually disappear. With regard to scars, they are barely perceptible and will not require special care.
