3% of the Spanish population suffers from hyperhidrosis or what is the same, excessive sweating, a problem compounded in summer. For hyperhidrosis, a solution already exists: the well-known botox. This substance not only serves to eliminate wrinkles but also can normalize the activity of the sweat glands. Eliminating this excessive sweating so annoying and inopportune.
The so-called hyperhidrosis is a little known but much more frequent than is believed and, although it is often underestimated or hidden, can lead to deteriorate the lives of those who suffer.
Botulinum toxin is the solution for hyperhidrosis , since its effects allow to relax the activity of the sweat glands, thus decreasing the appearance of sweat in the treated area.
In our center we perform this technique after application of local topical anesthesia or with cryoanesthesia (which is by cooling) in the area of the armpits. Although it should be clarified that when you have to treat your hands (palmar hyperhidrosis) and the feet , as they are more sensitive areas, the procedure is performed with a truncal anesthesia.
Infiltrations of botulinum toxin
The second step is the infiltration of botulinum toxin. Botox infiltrates subcutaneously at different points of the palms of the hands, armpits and soles of the feet, depending on the case and their needs. The patient will begin to notice a decrease in sweating between the fourth and seventh day , reaching a maximum effect after fifteen days of having undergone this technique to end hyperhidrosis. The effect of the treatment lasts between seven and ten months depending on the metabolism of each person.
This treatment achieves spectacular results , in a minimum time and with a long duration. Therefore, patients who have been treated repeat the procedure since it is a simple treatment that changes their lives.
