Maintaining good oral health is something that should be done since childhood. Specialists in Dentistry claim that the teeth should start cleaning from the moment they appear in the mouth, ie, from approximately 6 months of age.
During the first months, the cleaning should be done by passing a gauze soaked all surfaces of the teeth. When the child is ready, it will begin to use a brush specially designed for little ones.
First visit to the dentist
Specialists advise that the first child goes to the dentist when one year old. There are dentists who recommend that the visit will take place before the year because at that age have already appeared some teeth and it's good to know cleaning guidelines, diet and habits.
Prevention guidelines indicate that the toothpaste must be entered in children at the time when the first tooth.
Cavities in baby teeth
The more commonly known as baby teeth, temporary teeth are destined to be lost and replaced naturally by others and permanent. Despite this timing, it is important to treat cavities that they can appear as they play important roles. These functions include, not only aesthetic, but also chewing, phonetics and proper development of the jawbone. Also serve as a guide for the eruption of permanent teeth and hold space for the correct positioning of these within the arcade.
