Pediatric ophthalmologists

Child Ophthalmology is the medical and surgical discipline which prevents, diagnoses and treats diseases which affect the eyes and visual capacity of children. Also known as paediatric ophthalmology, this speciality is responsible for the care of the sight of children during the years in which they are developing. Ophthalmological care is essential during infancy, given that these are the years in which many visual problems appear and develop. They must be diagnosed as soon as possible so as to guarantee good vision during growth. This is because children’s eyes are in a constant state of growth up to approximately 8 years old.
