How to prevent and address early Periodontitis

The foundation of our periodontal treatment protocol (Full Mouth Desinfection) is the complete elimination of pathogenic bacteria of periodontal pockets and the reduction or elimination of habitats oral bacteria that can cause re-infection of already treated sites.

There are certain risk factors for which a patient can develop Periodontitis. Some of them are, among others:- Smoking- Diabetes- Genetic factors- Poor hygiene habits
Symptoms and Diagnosis of Periodontitis
The symptoms of a patient with periodontal disease are:- Gums that bleed when brushed or spontaneously- Gums thickened and red (signs of inflammation)- Loss of gum spot in one piece or generalized- Mobile Teeth- Bad breathThe diagnosis is based on clinical examination by the expert in dentistry and periodontics. This procedure will be followed by periodontal probing and radiographic, such as periapical series, ortopantomografía tests, among others.
Maintenance and monitoring of Periodontal Disease
Our treatment protocol is the realization of the full mouth disinfection in a single session.However, the chronic nature of Periodontal Disease, quarterly maintenance sessions yearly, half-yearly or needed, depending on the individual predisposition of each patient.
