Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid

Lip augmentation is a very simple technique that consists of enhancing the volume, projection and eversion of the lip, always maintaining a harmony with the rest of the facial structures to obtain a natural result.
What materials can be used and how long do they last?
The materials we can use are permanent or resorbable. From my experience, I always prefer resorbable ones and in this case I use hyaluronic acid because it is a biocompatible gel that gives me a very natural result.
Depending on the type of lip treatment that I would like to do, I can use different densities of hyaluronic acid, for example if I want to do a rejuvenation without lip augmentation I will use a hyaluronic that creates structure, hydration but does not give me excessive volume, whereas if I want voluminize I will use another type of hyaluronic that give me greater labial volume.
We should not forget to treat the labial frame such as nasolabial grooves, puppet lines and labial commissures so that the result is harmonious and very natural.
How long is its effect?
The effect of hyaluronic acid will depend on each patient. For example in patients who are smokers or who are subjected to excessive sun exposure or UVA rays duration is shorter, but in general terms the duration ranges between 6 months and a year .
What is the procedure?
The procedure is very simple. We proceed first to a truncal anesthesia of both the upper lip and the lower lip, we mark the labial profile, the filtrum, the cupid arch and then we go to give volume at the level of the mucosa.
We are giving the volume always trying to maintain the facial harmony avoiding causing a fully spilled lip, like a duck mouth, and also avoid giving too much volume in the area of the white lip to avoid the mouth of the monkey and thus achieve a harmonious result .
We complete the treatment by treating the labial commissures, the puppet lines and the nasolabial fold in case it is necessary, as well as the peribucal wrinkles in the area of the upper lip. In this way we will achieve a complete rejuvenation of the lower third of the face.
